A woman gets care at a surrogacy clinic. Many times this is where women live while pregnant in order to have hourly care. Even though it is not pictured, you can infer that this treatment isn't similar to that in the US, the facility is different, and not in a professional hospital setting.

A surrogate gets checked out at a hospital in the USA. There is an obvious difference in this photo, and the photo above. This surrogate has hands on care in a hospital, with sterile equipment, a RN and even the surrogate child's future fathers. Many times, in India, the surrogate doesn't get to meet the adoptive parents until the day of birth or even after.

"Surrogacy clinics in India oversee what the surrogate eats, drinks, how much exercise she gets; in short, they run her life. During the pregnancy, the women are made to stay in crowded hostels with other surrogates, and are often allowed to see their families just once a week"

Women in India have made surrogacy their job. Here they are sitting in and protesting against the new ban on commercial surrogacy due to the fact that it is their primary source of income for their families. While the baby factory mentality is unhealthy and wrong, and the inequalities are immense and unfair, this is a source of income for women and families in India.

Surrogacy, as seen in these photos, is exponentially different in the USA then in India. From the care, to pay, to the facilities used, there is an unfair difference and advantage that surrogates get in the US compared to in India.
